Desktop Environment Engineer

Required/Desired skills:
  • Current DoD 8570 Certification. Candidate MUST have IAT Level II Security+ certification

Specific Job Description:
  • Strong understanding of Windows systems, management and configuration aspects within an enterprise environment
  • Strong systems administration background in Windows
  • Ability to interface with end users in a professional, courteous and timely manner to resolve issues
  • Work with appropriate personnel to ensure IS policies and procedures are documented
  • Engineer will have a broad knowledge of Windows Desktop operating systems to include design considerations for desktop, laptop, and Thin-Client/VDI
  • Engineer will provide for change management support for USACE Gold Master Image based on Army Gold Master, and Federal Desktop Core Configuration image.
  • Considerations include knowledge of Data at Rest, Host-Based Security Systems, Anti-Virus, Smartcard support software, Active Directory Group Policy
  • Integration, and common Microsoft Office products
  • Skills in applying tools such as Resource Monitor and tools to evaluate running application dependencies are required
Required Security Clearance:
  • Candidate MUST be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years experience working in Windows Systems Administration
  • Current DoD 8570 Certification IAT Level II, Security+ or higher is required for this position
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and as individual contributor
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a rapidly evolving environment
Work Location:
  • At or near an existing US Army Corps of Engineers District/Division office
  • Virtual work location also considered
Work Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday
