Network Administrator

Required/Desired skills:

• Current DoD 8570 Certification. Candidate MUST have IAT Level II Security+ certification

Specific Job Description:

• The primary role of this position will be to provide onsite desktop technical support for researchers and engineers at the facility
• The secondary role will be to serve as a remote member of the enterprise Network Services team providing local network support capabilities
• The candidate should have a strong understanding of Windows Desktop systems, management and configuration aspects within an enterprise environment
• The candidate should have experience with Host-Based Security Systems, Anti-Virus, Smartcard support software, Active Directory Group Policy
• Although not required, the candidate would ideally have some experience with Apple/Mac systems
• Again, although not required, the candidate would ideally have some experience with Linux desktop systems
• The candidate should demonstrate the ability to interface with end users in a professional, courteous, and timely manner to resolve issues
• The candidate will work with appropriate personnel to ensure IS policies and procedures are documented
• The candidate should have a basic understanding of network switch installation, operation, and troubleshooting
• The candidate will ideally have some experience with basic network switch configuration
• At times, the candidate will be required to work with remote Network Services team members to perform network device software upgrades/patches
• At times, the candidate will be required to work with remote Network Services team members to conduct hands on troubleshooting via device console ports
• At times, the candidate will be required to interface with the local user base on behalf of the Network Services team to obtain networking requirements for current and future projects
• At times, the candidate will be required to interface with local telco to coordinate or troubleshoot issues regarding wiring and connectivity

Required Security Clearance:

• Candidate MUST be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years experience working in Desktop Support
• Current DoD 8570 Certification IAT Level II, Security+ or higher is required for this position
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team and as individual contributor
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a rapidly evolving environment
